Indo-Pak war of 1971 happened when I was in S.V.R Surat, but from 1969 always I was scanning pages of news papers ,whether there is any news of Mukti -Bahini who were fighting Pakistan military for independence from West Pakistan & I always prayed for underdogs ,who were named 'Mukti -Bahini' & Indian sympathy was for Mukti-Bahini. It was Madam Indira Gandhi who was Indian premier ,so always discussing among friends 'why not Indian premier take a decisive action ,only wailing for East Pakistan refugees ,how they are going to be fed !
I am a history buff & bit sensitive, so always thought over it . When I went to the roof of hostel watching showers of meteor or looking towards celestial , always thought they were the witness of umpteen wars which was fought on the land of Indian peninsula in different ages, carrying different stories in their womb ,some recorded & some went unrecorded of human valor & human miseries . In my memory the 1962, Indo-China war was saga of humiliation ,1965 Indo-Pak war was tie where each combatant was claiming ,he was victorious , God knows the truth ! but the 1st war of independence of 1857 resulting in defeat but hiding many a stories of utmost sacrifices, never told !
